I have had better days. Kathryn woke me up to say there was water all over the basement floor. Sure enough. The tank for the water purification system had blown. Sure enough, water all over. I managed to get my drums out before they got wet. Fortunately they were on a carpet I keep for playing on slick floors. The carpet is soaked, but with some vacuuming and drying it should be OK.
As I was assessing the damage, I stepped out into the yard to discover the septic tank had overflowed.
Thank goodness for a shop vac. I managed to get about 64 gallons of water out of the basement, but the flooding ruined a lot of stuff stored there.
I hope I can salvage the books and photos. The photos especially. They document my life during my band touring years.
The stuff is to us, treasures, but in the end it is just stuff So that's how it was at Fringe Benefit Farm today.
